A Level 1.3 Society tour
HALLOWEEN 2008 in TRANSYLVANIA
(think twice, my friend, think twice…)
Now, as some of you already know, October 31 in Transylvania is the last place on earth you should be in. We are aware that 9 out of 10 Americans do not take Transylvania for real
(they believe it is some Disneyland, Utopia or Shambala, but that is not our problem)
The Count wants to attend the 2008 Halloween (the one organized by his Transylvanian Society of Dracula) in the walled town of Sighisoara; while the wolves will not dare sneak within the walls, the other creatures will, and they are many.
Sighisoara, in the middle of Transylvania, Romania, lies at an intersection of
mythological, mythic and historic power-lines of dracularian roots. Sure, Sighisoara is also the
best-preserved 15 century walled town in Europe, the birth-place of prince Vlad the Impaler
Dracula, the site of many witch-trials, of the school attended by Herman Oberth – inventor of the
first modern rockets and developer of the Apollo program, a.s.o. Please add those unfortunate
graduates of the Scholomance school who misused their powers and turned themselves into
donkeys, rodents, dolphins or apes (the vampire-police are still looking for them).
So, what do you think? Sighisoara is a small walled-town – therefore “first
come, first served”. And, as usual, please dare candidate for “Miss Transylvania” dear ladies,
knowing you’ll be crowned Countess Dracula” if you win, to be the pair of the Count for one year
